Agra Fort

If you want to take genuine pictures of the Mughal customs, culture and life style of the people between 15th and 17th centuries, you can gather a lot of information when you visit Agra Fort. This is another tempting attraction to in  see in Agra city on Taj Mahal tours. The fort is a master piece of design and architecture during medieval India. The Great Emperor Akbar built it in 1565 A.D. There are a number of attractive buildings: Diwane-I-Aam, Diwane-I-Khas, Moti Masjid Jahangirs place, Khaas Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal in this fort.

Jahangiri Mahal was the dwelling of royal women. Mughal Princes and Emperors mostly kept the royal women at a  distance from public exposure. The women were provided privacy to live in safe place.
Jahangir Place is built from red stone brought from nearby places in Rajasthan and central India. A huge gate here leads to the impressive courtyard. There is big room where the queens lived. You can watch the beautiful  stone carvings on the walls of rooms. These are the master pieces of Persian art designs and architecture and worth witnessing on your Taj Mahal tours.
An octagonal watch tower built  here to post security guards for the security of royal women and children who were given the prime importance. No one could enter this palace without having permission or authorization.
The inner walls of Jahangir Palace  were made from the precious white marble stone brought from the mines in Makrana in state of Rajasthan. There are beautiful carvings on these walls, which is a combination of Indian  and Persian architecture. These carvings are on simple stones unlike those in Taj Mahal.
